Tips for Responsible Charging

Queue Up

Join the back of the queue and be respectful of those waiting ahead of you. Avoid using shortcuts or influence to bypass others.

Utilize Available Ports

If multiple chargers are available and one port is occupied, opt for the charger with both ports available to avoid splitting power.

Respect the Charge

Unplugging another driver's EV is generally considered impolite, even if you have a good reason. Avoid doing so unless you're absolutely certain the vehicle is fully charged and you're in dire need of power. Remember, everyone deserves a fair chance to charge their electric vehicle, even plug-in hybrid drivers.

Share the Charge

After your vehicle is fully charged, promptly relocate it to free up the charging station for others. Avoid using charging spots as parking spaces, as you may incur additional fees. Remember that some charging stations have parking fees, so check before you plug in!

It's frustrating when ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) vehicles park in spots designated for electric vehicles (EVs). This practice, commonly known as "getting ICEd," can cause inconvenience and stress for EV drivers. Instead of leaving angry or hostile messages, consider leaving a friendly note educating the driver about the importance of respecting EV charging spaces.

Support and Report

Report any issues or problems with charging stations to the appropriate authorities or station operators.

Leave No Trace

When you’re done charging, unplug and make sure to tidy up any cables and return them to their proper place.
